Background

Chip resides on the Isle of Palms with his wife, the former Lalla Lee Laffitte of Columbia, and his two young sons, George and Boyce. He enjoys hunting, fishing, surfing and skiing with his family.

Governor Sanford's Senior Policy Advisor

Governor Sanford selected Chip Campsen as his Senior Policy Advisor to help implement his vision of change for South Carolina. Chip's responsibilities included the governor's policy and legislative agendas, agency directives, budget matters and legal advice.

Governor Sanford's Transition Team Leader and Spokesman

Governor Sanford chose Chip Campsen as a Transition Team Leader and Spokesman, where he led efforts to organize and fill key positions in the administration, and spoke on behalf of the Transition Team.
